The VPC Teacher Education Program provides a holistic and layered approach: it's not just about learning a series of exercises, it also includes teaching philosophy and techniques, anatomy of movement, imagery and the Franklin Method®, and much more. At each step, there's an emphasis on embodying and practicing what you've learned; experiential education at its best.

I'm learning how to be a teacher (and a lifelong learner) rather than simply an instructor.

Application Process

STEP ONE: Competency evaluation

Applicants must be able to show competency in a selection of Pilates exercises, or a personalized modification, prior to applying for Level 1. Please refer to the list of prerequisite exercises in the Starter Kit.

Our program prepares you to teach Pilates. You will want to have established a personal Pilates practice prior to the course, so you can concentrate on teaching Pilates, rather than learning to do Pilates. If you are not already taking Pilates classes, we recommend you establish your Pilates practice as soon as possible.

Find more information about our equipment program with the button below and when you’re ready, please book your competency evaluation, which consists of two 55-minute private sessions with a course director ($199 plus gst).

STEP TWO: Invitation to Submit an Application

Following successful completion of your competency evaluation, you will be invited to submit an application for Level 1.

Should you choose to apply to the course, the application fee is due on submission ($150 plus gst, non-refundable). The application fee includes attendance at the Repertory Clinics, which take place before Module 1 and are a chance for you to meet your fellow students and review many of the pre-requisite exercises.

STEP THREE: Finalizing your Registration

Once the application process is complete, we will issue you an Enrollment and Practicum Agreement. Once you’ve signed the agreements and paid your deposit, you’re officially on the way to becoming the best Pilates teacher you can be!
