At Vancouver Pilates Centre, we offer a uniquely personalized equipment program for you to train your body in Pilates!  Below are a few of our frequently asked questions about our program:

Booking

 

How do I book appointments?

We will book your welcome package of private sessions after confirming that we have weekly standing appointments available for you to move into our regular schedule. 

We offer standing appointments for you to attend our program 2-3 times a week. These reserved appointments guarantee you a spot in our program, however you are welcome to reschedule to alternative times when needed.

Can I attend the equipment program only 1 time a week?

You will achieve the most benefit with the continuity of attending 2-3 sessions per week. Appointments in our personal equipment schedule are reserved for those who can attend a minimum of 2 sessions per week. If you are not able to attend a minimum of 2 times per week, please contact us to discuss other options. 

Once I am attending the personal equipment program, can I book further private sessions? 

We recommend scheduling private sessions:

  • For home program design

  • At regular intervals for program development 

  • To review current physical concerns (injury, pregnancy or other physical changes) 

  • For ongoing rehabilitative exercise 

  • For re-entry to our Pilates personal equipment program following an absence of 4 weeks or more

Our regular private rates will apply and appointments subject to availability. Please contact us to book!

Cancellations

 

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours advance notice for all cancellations. Full fees will be charged for any appointments that are cancelled for any reason with less than 24 hours notice from the appointed start time. This policy is due to scheduling demands and is strictly applied. We accept cancellations by email and phone (including voicemail). 

What if I cancel without 24 hours notice?

Full fees will be charged for any appointments that are cancelled for any reason with less than 24 hours notice from the appointed start time. However we provide same day privileges to reschedule your session or to attend a virtual class, space permitting, on the same day only. ​​

 

How do I reschedule missed or cancelled appointments?

Appointments that have been cancelled with 24 hours notice can be made up with an alternate appointment at a later date, space permitting. 

While you are attending the equipment program, makeups can be used for:

  • Alternate appointments within the same month

  • Additional appointments within the expiry period

  • Virtual classes 

  • Discounts on private sessions 

All makeups have a 4 month expiry. Makeups cannot be used to pay for your reserved appointments or in lieu of your monthly installments. Please contact us for booking and rescheduling via email or phone.

Absences

PLEASE NOTE: Due to our reduced occupancy to comply with the current Public Health Order, our previous reserve policy (below) does not apply. Please enquire directly with us if you are planning to be away for more than 2 weeks.

What if I am away for part of the month?

Please alert us prior to the start of the month if you are going to be away so that we can adjust your payment plan. You are still welcome to purchase a monthly installment and makeup any missed sessions or use them for other makeup opportunities. 

If you are away for 2 or more consecutive appointments in a month, you also have the option to purchase "single sessions", while we are holding your standing appointment times. The single session rate is a higher rate per session. You will receive our best rate with a monthly installment. 

What if I am away for an extended period of time?

For absences of more than 2 weeks you have the option of leaving a $50 deposit to:

  • Hold your Standing Appointments and retain membership level   (up to 6 weeks) 

  • Retain your membership discount upon return                                 (up to 6 -12 months)

What is my membership level and what are the benefits? 

You will begin at the Bronze level and receive a 5% discount on VPC products and services.

After 2 years of continuous attendance, you will upgrade to the Silver level and receive a 10% discount.

After 4 years of continuous attendance, you will advance to the top Gold level and receive a 15% discount. 

Can I attend other therapies while attending Pilates?

We recommend that you avoid scheduling your Pilates sessions on the same day as treatments such as massage therapy, physiotherapy, chiropractic care, etc. If that is not possible, try to schedule your treatment after your Pilates session.​

What if I am injured?

Please call ahead to discuss the best option for continuing your program. As long as your health professional has cleared you for physical activity, we encourage you to attend.  If you arrive with an injury, but still feel able to proceed, please alert our teaching staff before you begin your workout so we can recommend program modifications.

What if I am sick?

If you are not feeling well for any reason, please cancel your appointment(s) and do not plan to return to the studio until you are fully recovered.

  • For advice about when to get tested for COVID-19, please visit the following website to use the
    BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool: https://bc.thrive.health.  

  • Do not enter the studio if:

    • You, or anyone in your immediate household has had symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days.

    • You, or anyone in your immediate household is self-isolating or quarantined due to either:

      • Illness

      • Contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in the past 14 days.

      • Travel outside of Canada in the past 14 days. 

 

You may return to the studio when:

  • You receive a negative COVID-19 test and you are completely symptom free, OR

  • You are advised by either HealthLink B.C. (call 8-1-1) or your physician that a COVID-19 test is not required and that you may resume regular activities

  • Please alert us by phone or email when you are able to resume your appointments.

Our late cancellation fee will be waived if you cancel due to COVID-19 symptoms, self-isolation or due to close contact with someone who has symptoms. All subsequent in-studio appointments will be automatically cancelled for 10 days (no charges will apply for COVID-19 related absences).
